August 28 – The visiting Baltimore Orioles defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers 3-2 on Tuesday to start a three-game series between two of the best teams in the big leagues, with Ramon Urias hitting a game-winning two-run home run in the fifth inning. For the Orioles, who are 19-18 since the All-Star break, Ryan O’Hearn also blasted a home run, bringing them to within one game of the top-seeded New York Yankees in the American League East. For the Dodgers, Miguel Rojas and Teoscar Hernandez both drove in a run, and Shohei Ohtani finished with two hits and a run. After coming to Los Angeles around the trade deadline, right-hander Jack Flaherty (10-6) has made five starts and given up three runs on six hits in six innings. He had two walks and five strikeouts.
